Abstract: | This report prepared by the NRRI provides an overview and definition of AMI in the first section. The authors also note a number of additional issues that a regulator will want to resolve before determining whether to approve AMI cost recovery. This report also distinguishes AMI from other technologies and systems that are sometimes confused with AMI, and from other technologies and systems that can be used to provide demand response offerings to consumers without the cost of a complete AMI system.
