Author: | Cheryl Beaver, Donald Gallup, William Neumann and Mark Torgerson | Year: | 2002 | Abstract: | In this paper the authors discuss various security aspects and requirements of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the electric power grid. In particular we discuss a method of managing cryptographic keys and give sample cryptographic algorithms that are appropriate for the SCADA system. We also describe a simulated SCADA network that we have implemented and discuss the items concerning its efficiency and compatibility with the requirements of the SCADA network.
