Consumer electronics products will be an integral part of the Smart Grid. Products will include smartened power consuming appliances, Consumer purchased power generators and in-home storage. These products lead to a more complex relationship between Consumers and utilities. We discuss how these products appear to the Smart Grid and the features required of the grid in order to manage them.
