Program Description:

Workforce Training for the Electric Power Sector - This DOE sponsored program is designed to enhance undergraduate, graduate, and professional education on subjects critical to the successful implementation of the Smart Grid, supplementing traditional electrical engineering training with topics such as Smart Grid, Cyber Security, Energy Efficiency and Clean Energy, Power System Protection, Power Systems and Power Systems Management. It will also address the needs of students and teachers by developing programs that can be taught in the high schools on power systems, alternative energy, energy conservation, and the Smart Grid, with the objective of developing well-trained technicians and pre-engineering students that are knowledgeable in power systems and clean-energy smart grid practices. The program will deliver the courses, short courses, and seminars in-class and online.
