Abstract:

The Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) will enable third parties, such as energy management companies, to use the communication infrastructure as a gateway to monitor and control customer equipment located at the customer’s premise. The AMI will be required to enable ondemand requests and support a secure environment for the transmission of customer confidential information.
