Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to put forward Privacy by Design (the Gold Standard for data protection) as the standard to be adopted for Smart Grid implementation, in order to protect data privacy. The authors also showcase how Smart Grid programs in Ontario are being built with Privacy by Design as a central guiding design feature.
