Central Maine Power Company, as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, has been awarded $95.9 M in funding to develop a smart grid starting in 2010. The project will install a smart meter network for all residential, commercial and industrial customers in the utility's service territory - approximately 650,000 meters.
