Cheyenne Light, Fuel, and Power Company, by way of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, was awarded $5 million in funding to develop a smart grid beginning in 2010. The project, when implemented, will install 38,000 smart meters and communications infrastructure that will allow consumers to make use of dynamic pricing to reduce their energy use.
