Project Summary:

American Electric Power (AEP) Texas began installing smart meters to its nearly 1,000,000 electric customers in October 2009. AEP Texas plans to complete the entire installation by 2013 [1]. For its smart grid initiative, AEP has chosen Landi+Gyr’s Gridstream RF (Radio Frequency) smart grid network [2]. Also, MET Laboratories is testing the smart meters from AEP Texas for accuracy at different temperature and load conditions [3].
