Northeastern Rural Electric Membership Co-operative (NREMC) headquartered in Columbia city, IN has partnered with Tantalus corporation for its Automated Meter Reading (AMR) deployment which started in 2008 [1, 2]. The TUNet network serves for the 2-way real time communications that rely on a 220 MHz Wide Area Network (WAN) and a 900 MHz Local Area Network (LAN) [1]. Real-time and online monitoring of voltage and power quality are being used to detect malfunctioning in the field equipments, which helps ensure "always on" energy availability for the NREMC customers [1].
