Abstract: | This set of slides was presented at the Smart Grid and Overhead Reliability Conference - Columbus, OH, on Feb 11, 2010. It discussed the high voltage (HV) broadband power line (BPL) Demonstration Project, which is one of DOE's funded demonstration projects of advanced technology for smart grid applications (substation automation). The key applications include: replace old pilot wire for protective relay applications, SCADA expansion to remote stations, station surveillance, advanced protection.
