Abstract: | This set of slides explains the characteristics, assets and applications that comprise the smart grid, smart grid operational strategies for distribution systems, and how smart grid can directly reduce or enable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Includes a summary of the smart grid demonstration on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. The presentation was prepared by Rob Pratt, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, to be presented to the Utah Public Service Commission on May 13, 2009.
