This document reports about the works of Smart Grid Cyber Security Work Group in the Computer Security Division of NIST. NIST created a Smart Grid Cyber Security Work Group with around 500 members to assess the risks and find out effective strategies to deal with these risks. The group and its work are open to the public. The specific components those are focused are: vulnerability analysis, bottom-up security issues, security architecture, high level requirements, research and development, cryptography and key management, testing and certification, security specifications for smart meters, privacy, and standards assessment. Cyber security is being addressed as high level requirements which were developed using a risk management process.
