This document provides map and table, which summarize current smart meter installations, as well as planned deployments and proposals, by investor-owned utilities, large public power utilities, and some rural electric cooperatives. IEE estimates that approximately 65 million smart meters will be deployed by 2015, representing 54% of U.S. households. As of September 2011, 27 million smart meters have been installed.
