Abstract: | The presentation was made at IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting Super Sessions in July, 2011. The following major documents and functions were presented: 1) J2836™ -Use Cases; 2) J2847 –Corresponding Requirements (to use cases); 3) J2931 –Communication Requirements; 4) J2953 –Interoperability. The need to review the categories and determine content in each of J2836/4™ & J2847/4 status was described as follows: 1) Basic diagnostics - detectable failures for control pilot and detection circuit, DC charger/discharger faults; 2) Optional diagnostics -fault indicators on EVSE and functions displayed in Plug-In Vehicle (PEV), Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE), and HAN; 3) Enhanced diagnostics includes alerts from VM service centers, PEV notifying customers of issues, Software upgrades, and VM specific functions.
