Abstract: | The presentation was made at IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting Super Sessions in July, 2011. The presentation outlines the following: 1) US DOE’s Transportation Electrification Demonstrations; 2) INL’s role with data collection and reporting; 3) Recovery Act data collection projects; 4) EV Project background and results to date; 5) Ford PHEV Escape demo results to date; 6) Other data collection activities. EV project commercial infrastructure includes install ~5,300 level 2 EVSE at retail locations, municipal locations, and employer locations and deploy 200 Dual Port DC Fast Chargers. Objective of the EV project are: 1) Build mature EV charging infrastructure in nine regions and study - infrastructure deployment process, customer driving and charging behavior, and impact on electric grid; 2) Provide lessons learned to enable mass deployment of plug-in electric vehicles and charging infrastructure.
