Abstract: | The presentation was made at IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting Super Sessions in July, 2011. The presentation describes project development process for solar panels installation as follows: 1) Select customer – through a solicitation of interest or an economic development opportunity; 2) Negotiate site easement agreement with customer and conduct initial site feasibility assessment of (3-5 Months); 3) Engineer, procure and construct (EPC) project (6-8 Months) provided by Nova Consultants, Novi, Michigan. Considerations for selecting the customer/site include available space, location (roof vs. ground mounted), and consideration of visibility in the community, either through location, significant visitor traffic, education or community outreach.
