Abstract: | The presentation was made at IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting Super Sessions in July 2011. The presentation overviews the existing and Pending PV Generation, PV System Impact on the Grid, steady State and Dynamic Modeling, study Results and Mitigation Solutions, PV Analytics and observations from installed systems, and need for steady state and dynamic simulations. Some expected impacts for the need of steady state and dynamic simulations are: 1) Reverse power flow; 2) Interaction with capacitor banks and voltage regulators; 3) Voltage variations (transient and steady state); 4) Real and reactive power fluctuations; 5) Potential impacts on over current and over voltage protection systems; 6) Losses increase and power factor modification; 7) Voltage unbalance (single-phase PV-DG); 8) Harmonics (e.g., potential THD increase).
