Ventyx has announced plans to join an initiative to create one of the world’s smartest electricity networks as part of the Smart Grid Gotland project in Sweden. Ventyx will deploy a comprehensive distribution system optimization solution encompassing network control, demand response management, demand forecasting, and business analytics to support the project. This infrastructure will enable large quantities of wind and other renewable and distributed energy sources to be integrated into the grid.
Landis+Gyr has acquired PowerSense, which has designed solutions to retrofit and digitalize existing power distribution infrastructures enabling utilities to balance and better manage grids in their medium and low voltage distribution network. This enables grid operators to meet the challenges of the future power grids such as an increasing number of distributed power generation options and unpredictable loads that significantly change the power consumption patterns.
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) has successfully deployed C3 Revenue Protection and C3 AMI Operations across the utility’s two million meter smart grid network. The solutions analyze more than 35 billion rows of data from twelve BGE and third-party data sources to help BGE’s revenue protection and grid operational teams operate more efficiently and effectively.
HomeGrid Forum has confirmed that twenty-two vendors have certified G.hn silicon in their systems. The announcement comes as service providers in various regions are completing their field trials. HomeGrid also announced Triductor Technology of China is the newest addition to the list of G.hn silicon providers.
