Abstract:

The presentation was made at IEEE PES 2011 General Meeting Super Sessions in July, 2011. Greensmith’s (GS) Architecture is capable of multiple applications such as load shifting /leveling, peak shaving /capacity, ancillary services, power quality, solar/wind smoothing, and portable power placement GS has scalable, serviceable tray design that’s battery agnostic is a key strategy. Energy storage and cloud computing include: 1) Multiple DESS units form virtual mega watt storages at a various location; 2) When used as one virtual unit, physical units form a peer‐to‐peer network in a LAN; 3) At any LAN, a single super node unit take commands from Portal/ control system and operate peer units and itself in unison; 4) Multiple LANs can form a even larger virtual storage units over the WAN/Internet.
