Many sensing applications associated to Electrical Transmission and Distribution Networks (ETDN) can take advantage from using Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in order to achieve lower costs and to increase the number of magnitudes measured. Other expected benefits which can be obtained from the use of WSN for measurement applications are easier reconfigurations and recalibrations of sensors. Thus, the study of successful WSN has become an important target for DENISE, a project which will develop the Smartgrid in Spain.
